Rochester Man Faces Charges In Argument Over Extension Cord

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man is accused of intentionally striking another person with his car after the two got into an altercation over an extension cord.

The incident happened last October at a local apartment complex.

Police officers arrived to find a man with numerous injuries.

The man told them he was using an extension cord running from his apartment to his vehicle “in order to conduct repairs.” The man told the officers 22-year-old Wyatt Page drove into the parking lot and ran over the extension cord, causing it to unplug. The man said he confronted Page and the altercation began.

The criminal complaint says when the altercation escalated Page got back into his vehicle, put it in reverse and accelerated. The complaint says Page’s vehicle hit the victim, causing him “to go airborne.” The man landed on the hood and windshield of his own vehicle and Page drove off.

The man reported “pain to his wrist, knees and back as a result of being struck.”

Page has been charged with felony assault and three other counts and has been ordered to make his first court appearance on May 3rd.
